Terms of Service

The service

Alba Path provides school information, planning tools and consultations with verified mentors for US undergraduate applications. School and admissions information is for reference only and is not a promise of admission.

Accounts and conduct

Use your account lawfully. Do not post illegal, infringing, spammy or abusive content. Mentor column articles are reviewed by our team before they are published, and reviews must be based on a consultation that actually took place. We may reject, hide or remove content that breaks these rules.

Consultations and payment

Mentor consultations are a paid service at the price listed on the mentor's page, with no extra platform fee. After holding a slot you pay through our operations team on WeChat. The platform holds the payment and pays the mentor only after the consultation and a 48-hour complaint window. The Tencent Meeting link is sent to you in your order on the site.

Cancellation and refunds

These rules are shown to you, and confirmed by you, before you hold a slot and pay. All times are measured from the start of the booked slot.

• Unpaid: cancel any time. If payment hasn't arrived by the deadline (7 days after booking or 12 hours before the start, whichever is earlier), the slot is released.
• Paid: full refund if you cancel 24+ hours before the start or within 2 hours of paying; 50% if you cancel between 24 and 2 hours before; no refund if you cancel within 2 hours or haven't joined the meeting 15 minutes after the start.
• Rescheduling: up to 2 times to another slot with the same mentor, 24+ hours before the start; after that only with the mentor's agreement, otherwise it counts as a cancellation.
• Emergencies: with documentation (for example an emergency room visit, a sudden school commitment or a cancelled flight), one per student per calendar year is waived with a full refund.
• Mentor-side: if the mentor cancels or hasn't joined 15 minutes after the start, you get a full refund plus ¥30 off your next consultation (valid for 60 days).
• Interrupted meetings: if the call lasts under 40 minutes, the rest is made up or rescheduled for free; if that isn't possible, you get a partial or full refund based on the time actually spent.
• Complaints: within 48 hours after the consultation; after review, a partial or full refund. Disagreeing with the mentor's views or not getting an admissions guarantee isn't grounds for a refund. Complaints are handled separately from reviews.
• Refund method: within 3 business days, back to the account you paid from. Attendance and call length are based on Tencent Meeting records.

Becoming a mentor

Mentor applicants must submit genuine proof of admission or enrollment. You may not take bookings as a verified mentor before approval; false documents lead to rejection or removal.
